Learning together for a cleaner Beong Touk
Students, local leaders and educators came together for a morning of learning, games and hands-on environmental care.

On the morning of 9 October, EDGE Worldwide joined Education For Rural Community Development Organization (ECD) and local students in Beong Touk for an environmental initiative connecting learning with everyday action.
The gathering welcomed commune and sangkat leaders, including an address to the students by the sangkat head. EDGE Worldwide’s Hilde Marie Kvaløsaeter and Jamie Christopherson also spoke with the students about caring for their surroundings, managing waste and the connection between a healthy environment and a healthy lifestyle.

Interactive games brought energy and laughter to the morning before everyone headed into the surrounding village for a community clean-up. Together, they collected plastic, aluminium and other discarded rubbish for careful disposal.

The students’ enthusiasm was at the heart of the activity. They connected with one another, joined in the games and put the morning’s ideas into practice by caring for the places where they live and learn.

For EDGE Worldwide, the morning brought education, wellbeing and community participation together in a practical way. It was an opportunity to learn alongside local educators and leaders, with students taking an active role in looking after their own community.
EDGE Worldwide thanks ECD, the students and Beong Touk’s local leadership for their participation and support. We look forward to continued collaboration on educational initiatives that strengthen learning and help create a healthier environment for everyone.
